The Chronicles of L Anne Carrington - Chapter Ten
L Anne is such a classic beauty, it’s no wonder she’s competed in many beauty pageants. Here are her accomplishments in them:
PAGEANT TITLES:
Ms Pageant Gal Pennsylvania 2003
Ms. Pageant Gal Pittsburgh 2003
Ms. Lady Pageant Gal Pittsburgh 2003
Ms. American Rose Pageant-McKeesport City Queen 2003
Ms. American Rose-City Beauty Princess 2003
Ms. American Rose-City Talent Princess 2003
Ms. McKeesport (PA) American States 2003
Miss Pennsylvania Galaxy 2002
Ms Plus Internet World 2002
Miss 16 Plus 1995
Amazing, right?
Let’s just break these down.
Miss 16 Plus - a quick Google of this pageant reveals only links to L Anne’s claims of winning this in 1995.
Ms Plus Internet World - L Anne admits to having ‘created’ this in one of her bios.
The brains behind creating the Ms Plus Internet World and Mr Internet World (she believes male models should also be recognized for their works as well) titles, she was selected by industry professionals as the very first Ms Plus Internet World in 2002.
What professionals? You can’t find anything about that online either, other than L Anne’s own statements on many sites.
Miss Pennsylvania Galaxy - Another one I believe L Anne invented. There are some quotes on pageant sites that have blurbs of upcoming events. There are two blurbs floating around:
Lori Ann Dennick of McKeesport, Penn., has been selected as Miss Pennsylvania Galaxy 2002. She will compete for the title of Miss Galaxy in Akron, Ohio, in June 2002.
And
Lori Ann Dennick has been selected Miss Pennsylvania Galaxy 2003. She will compete for the 2004 International Galaxy title in their respective divisions in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in June 2003.
But did those division titles happen? Did Miss Pennsylvania happen?
She seems to think so.

You don’t think she went out and bought her own sash and tiara, do you?
Google the other pageants. Other than endless quotes, BY L ANNE, about them, I cannot find any proof they existed.
Interesting, right?
From an interview she wrote in 2004:
“Then in 2002, I got picked as the first Ms. Plus Internet World, then I got to be Miss Pennsylvania Galaxy that same year, then 2003 Ms. McKeesport American States, but I didn’t get all the way to Ms. Pennsylvania American States. I hadn’t even thought of pageants since I won Miss 16 Plus 1995 when I was going to Barbizon in Pittsburgh the year before and I’d found out about that contest through another modeling source. By the time I’d gotten all these titles, I was actually counting days until they were over with, because it wasn’t fun anymore. It was getting to the point where I thought modeling was actually shallow and not very stimulating intellectually. I’m not saying all models are not intelligent–there are many who are–but at that point, it just wasn’t for me anymore. So I quit.”
Interestingly, the only pageant she lists that I can find an official site for is American Rose. Which is a site that basically gives you a sash simply for sending in your $x entry fee.

PAGEANT DATES
REMEMBER: All our pageants are 100% mail-in competitions.
You never have to travel to a pageant!
Local pageants are held between January 1st and August 15th.
Our first winners of the year are announced Jan. 1st.
We hold competitions twice a month, on the 15th & 30th.
If your entry is received between the 1st & 15th of the month,
your pageant date will be the 15th of the following month.
If your entry is received between the 16th & the end of the month,
your pageant date will be the 30th of the following month.
If your city’s pageant has already been held before we receive your entry, we will put you down for your second choice city.
When we receive your entry you will be notified of the date of your competition.
You may contact us if you want to know if your city’s pageant has been held yet this year.
State pageants are September 30th.
(you must win a local title to be eligible for the state pageant).
The National pageant is November 20th.
JUDGING
Each competition is judged by three judges of various ages and backgrounds. There is not one particular thing the judges are looking for, just the overall impression they get from your entry. The judging is especially lenient in the optional competitions, so be creative. You will receive copies of your scores, as well as any comments from the judges, when your prizes are mailed to you, so that you can see how you did. If you do not wish to see your scores, please let us know.
Judges decisions are final.
You will have the opportunity to make any changes you wish to your entry before each level of competition.
DUTIES OF THE WINNERS
Each winner may do as she wishes with her title. She may appear in the local media, be in parades, make personal appearances, or do anything else she wishes as long as she does so with pride and respect for her title. We encourage everyone to make the most of their reign, but we do not require any appearances.
Interesting. I think I will start Miss Tard of the Month awards. Send in $50 and I’ll send you a congratulatory email.
L Anne entered many pageants over the years, we’ll continue to visit this aspect of her life as the chronicles progress.
